Floating Island

Floating Island, also known as Sebitseom Island, with the meaning ‘three shining islands brightening the Hangang River’ is the world’s first floating cultural space. It is made up of four artificial islands with wedding halls, Italian restaurants, buffets and cafes, exhibitions, performances and it is used as a marina for yachts and boats! The floating island, known to be a popular spot for nightlife in South Korea, has colorful and beautiful LED lights that reflect off of the Hangang River, making it a popular filming location for various dramas and movies, such Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Palgongsan

Palgongsan Natural Park

Palgongsan Natural Park is located close to Palgongsan Mountain, one of the larger mountains in the Taebaek mountain range. Palgongsan Mountain is located 20km northeast from downtown Daegu, where Nakdonggang River and Geumhogang River meet. The mountain has three peaks in a row: Birobong Peak in the center and Dongbong (aka ‘Mitabong,’ 1,155m) and Seobong (aka ‘Samseongbong,’ 1,150m) on each side.

Daegu Arboretum

Daegu Arboretum was built on a sanitary landfill. It is home to more than 1,000 species of plants including giant cacti, flowers, medicinal herbs, and trees. In addition, the facility regularly holds ecology experience programs for students and young children. Meanwhile, Daegu Arboretum has been recognized as an excellent model of ecosystem restoration.

Glass Island

Glass Island is Korea’s Murano, famous for its glass craft! Glass Island in Daebu Island is a multicultural complex over a wide area of 43,000㎡ in 2012, established with the goal of becoming Korea’s Murano.The Island has glass sculptural park and museums featuring works by famous artists. Visitors can also watch glass craft demonstrations and even create their own glass artworks.
