Known as the place of birth of the General Gang Gamchan (948-1031) of the Goryeo Dynasty, one of the greatest dynasties of Korea. The name Nakseongdae comes from a legend saying that a large star fell on earth at the moment the general was born. He then was known for his military victories during the third war against Khitan.

Inside the park we find the Anguksa Shrine and Nakseongdae, the general’s birthplace, and a three-story stone pagoda made of granite.

The Anguksa is a shrine built in 1974. With a wooden architecture style coming from the Goryeo era, it has a very high ceilings. There, lies the portrait of General Kang Gam-chan.
