10 steps to Glass Skin: cleanser x2, exfoliant, toner, essence, serum/ampoule, sheet mask, eye cream, moisturizer, spf/night cream

Reminder: All skin types are different and have different needs and reactions to products, this is why we always advise you to test out each product on your hand and wait for 24hrs to look out for any allergic reactions.

Step 1 / 2 – Washing x2!

You heard it right, the first step, and an unskippable one at that, deep cleansing with lukewarm water. Lukewarm is the best temperature for facial skin due to the thinness of the skin layer.
Korean dermatologists advise first using an Oil-Based cleanser to clean your face of residual makeup and/or accumulated dirt throughout the day. Oil-based cleansers are less irritating and have great efficiency in the removal of waterproof products. The second wash should be done with a pH-balancing cleanser, to rebalance the natural weakly acidic pH levels of the skin. Korean skincare routine

Step 3 – Scrub, scrub, scrub!

Now exfoliation is an essential part of completely wiping out dead cells and reducing the skin’s overall texture. It is important to pick the one right for you depending on your skin type and condition not to further aggress the skin, hence a gentle scrub is to be preferred.
It is however not recommended to exfoliate every day to prevent skin breakouts from happening, once every 3 days would be the best frequency! Korean skincare routine

Step 4 – Toning up!

Onto the next step now, apply toner to that freshly cleaned face! A good toner will finish removing any leftovers the 3 before steps may have missed out. It will also balance out the pH levels of your skin. Hence you need to pick out a toner according to your skin type as it could drastically strip the oil out of your skin. Better to avoid alcohol-based toners.

Step 5 – Essence, the next essential step!

After removing all your skin from its natural oil, it’s now time to rehydrate. Essence is wrongfully underrated in the Western world when it has such a magical effect on the skin. Its healing power soothes the skin with hydration-packed ingredients all the while activating the skin-cell renewal. Same as toner, you shall pat it lightly into your skin after pouring a few drops onto your fingers. Korean skincare routine

Step 6 – Boost up with Serum or Ampoule!

The second step to hydrating back the skin is by applying face serum. Like the essence, it is concentrated in active hydrating ingredients. The specificities differ from the essence’s as it targets the skin’s main problems, this is why it is essential to first asset the skin type before buying just any. Same application process as for the essence.

Step 7 – Relax time with a sheet mask!

Probably the most famous skincare product and for a good reason, there is a sheet mask of every perfume possible that fits every skin type and any condition! Leaving you have plenty of options to choose from for your skin’s personal needs. The application process is easy: simply leave it on for around 20 minutes, it will give your skin that dewy and supple look.

Step 8 – Don’t forget eye contours!

Eye cream is key to addressing a fatigued look, it helps correct imperfections such as wrinkles, dark circles, and aging signs. Only a drop to tap into the skin will suffice to do wonders!

Step 9 – Moisturizing time!

The key to completing the hydration process of your skin! Depending on your skin type, you’d prefer between a light and a heavy cream-based moisturizer. Dermatologists believe it serves as the final locking layer to all the previous ones. Tap, tap, tap, and let your skin rest a bit before going on to the next and final step!

Step 10 – SPF or Night Cream, day VS night!

Depending on the time of the day, the cherry on top is going to be either SPF or night cream! On the one hand, SPF will serve as a shield from harmless UV rays, at either time of the year. On the other hand, night cream will add up to locking in all the moisture during the night, for you to wake up to baby-looking skin the next morning!

Whether you decide to follow through with this extensive skincare routine or a simpler one, taking care of your body is the first key to a healthier mind.
